It looks as though the updated Teen Wolf TV series is a go, with the news today that MTV have picked up the series.
Dave posted on the casting for the series at the end of last year, naming the cast as
‘Tyler Posey, Tyler Hoechlin, Crystal Reed and Dylan O’Brien have been cast in the pilot presentation penned by “Criminal Minds” creator Jeff Davis.’
The LiveFeed have the MTV news, and drew the obvious recent TV hits as comparisons,
The move has the network betting that after a couple hit vampire shows (HBO’s “True Blood,” The CW’s “Vampire Diaries”), and, naturally, “Twilight,” supernatural TV fans might be primed for a more furry hero.
While I can’t fault the series creators for tapping into the rich nostalgia vein, as long as there’s not a Michael J. Fox cameo I’ll be interested to see what they do with this one.
The 1985 film has dated pretty badly, as any contemporary high school based comedy will, but there’s enough charm in Fox’s performance to enjoy it today – so why not go back and revisit it before the quick cutting CG infused trailers for the new series hit MTV.
