Production on Super 8, JJ Abrams latest top-secret, “I could tell you but I’d have to kill you” film, which is being co-produced with Steven Spielberg, has begun, but very little has been forthcoming. There was this teaser trailer, followed by a little bit of casting news, but otherwise, not much at all.

Now, one beady-eyed reader of Shock Til You Drop has grabbed some on set footage of a convoy of tanks, jeeps and machine-gun wielding soldiers unloading at something which will no doubt be added in post-production. It all ends with a rather satisfying explosion, which is nice.

We’ve embedded the footage below, or you can check out the story at Shock Til You Drop.

Dave has been writing for HeyUGuys since mid-2010 and has found them to be the most intelligent, friendly, erudite and insightful bunch of film fans you could hope to work with. He's gone from ham-fisted attempts at writing the news to interviewing Lawrence Bender, Renny Harlin and Julian Glover, to writing articles about things he loves that people have actually read. He has fairly broad tastes as far as films are concerned, though given the choice he's likely to go for Con Air over Battleship Potemkin most days. He's pretty sure that 2001: A Space Odyssey is the most overrated mess in cinematic history.
