Stoker-PosterPark Chan-wook (Oldboy) makes his anticipated English language debut with Stoker this year, which has just had its premiere at Sundance this weekend to promising early reviews.

Blending elements of drama, mystery, thriller, and horror into one hundred-minute ball of awesomeness, the film will be arriving in theatres this spring. And following its world premiere out in Park City, Empire have debuted a new trailer for the upcoming film.

“After India’s (Wasikowska’s) father dies in an auto accident, her Uncle Charlie (Goode), who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her emotionally unstable mother Evelyn (Kidman). Soon after his arrival, she comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives, but instead of feeling outrage or horror, this friendless girl becomes increasingly infatuated with him.”

Mia Wasikowska, Nicole Kidman, and Charlie Goode look to be brilliantly cast in Stoker’s leading trio. Jacki Weaver, Dermot Mulroney, Lucas Till, and Alden Ehrenreich complete the cast nicely, with Ridley Scott and the late Tony Scott serving as executive producers.

Chan-wook is directing from a script penned by Wentworth Miller, best known for his leading role in Prison Break. Miller makes his debut as a screenwriter with Stoker, having originally sent the script out under a pseudonym, which made it onto the 2010 Black List. Fast forward three years, and we’ve got a brilliant thriller coming our way in a matter of weeks.

Stoker will be released in the UK and US on 1st March, and is definitely sure to be a great way to start the spring season at the box office.
