Filmmaker, Stefano Sollima has begun negotiations to take the helm on the adaptation of Tom Clancy’s ‘Without Remorse’
Sollima, who took the directors chair on ‘Sicario: Day of the Soldado’ would be directing Creed’s Michael B. Jordan in the role of operations officer John Clark. Jordan is also a producer on the feature.
Clark is a recurring character and a darker version of his more by the books hero Jack Ryan. Clark is an ex-Navy Seal who became a CIA operations officer and has appeared in more than 17 Clancy novels, with the two aforementioned ones where he serves as the protagonist.

Without Remorse is set during the Vietnam War and serves as an origin story of John Clark, one of the recurring characters in the Jack Ryan universe. Without Remorse introduces Clark as former Navy SEAL John Kelly, and explains how he changed his name.
Jordan is also set to star in and produce Clancy’s Rainbow Six which focuses on John Clark, Ding Chavez, and a fictional multi-national counterterrorist unit codenamed Rainbow, rather than Jack Ryan and national politics. It has also been adapted into a series of video games by the same name. The video game describes Rainbow as an international counter-terrorism operation hosted by NATO and funded by money funnelled through the U.S. Department of the Interior.
Both books have previously been the subject to adaptations but neither came to fruition. However, the role of John Clark has previously been portrayed by both Willem Dafoe in Clear and Present Danger and Liev Schrieber in The Sum of all Fears.
