Let’s be honest, as excited as we are for all the festivals, awards season and the cooler, brisk Autumn air, there is only one thing we are excited about through now and the end of the year: Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Everything else is just filler until we can all transport once again to a galaxy far, far away and catch-up with the comings and goings that have happened since 2015’s The Force Awakens. Who really is The Last Jedi? Will Rey find her parents? Who is Snoke? Who will direct Episode IV?! So many questions but we will very soon have some answers.

In a report from the always excellent SWNN director Rian Johnson has confirmed that his talisman actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt will have a role in The Last Jedi. He confirms the actor came to voice a role similar to Daniel Craig’s stormtrooper in The Force Awakens. See the video of at the link above, as well as the director’s comments on if he’s in the running for the Episode IX director’s job.

To keep us salivating frustratingly that we can’t watch the film right now, Topps Trading Cards have released a look at some of the images from the new set to commemorate the film, which you can view in the library below – we are certain that some of these will be gracing phone wallpaper screens very shortly. .

As for the plot, well your guess is as good as ours with many fan theories doing the rounds but what we know for sure is that Rey (Daisy Ridley) is now in Jedi training under the tutelage of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Finn (John Boyega) is getting over his horrific injuries from his lightsaber fight with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver); and said villain and his master, Supreme Leader Snoke, still plan on destroying the resistance for good and taking over the galaxy.
