It’s here! Yesterday we received word that Tom Holland’s debut big screen outing in his own Spider-Man film would be unveiling it’s first trailer today. It was a very neat little clip, with Jon Favreau’s latest turn as Happy Hogan and the fingerprints of Tony Stark all over the new suit Peter Parker will wear in Spider-Man Homecoming.

Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Bokeem Woodbine, Donald Glover and Robert Downey Jnr are set to round out the cast for the film with all eyes on Keaton who is appearing as Vulture in this new film. This trailer gives us our first look at how director Jon Watts will bring this, the third iteration of Spider-Man in a decade, to the big screen.

Holland’s appearance as Spidey in Captain America: Civil War was easily a highlight of the film. This new film’s title is not just a reference to the youthful stage on which our story is set, but a nod to the fact that Spider-Man is now back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Tom Holland (Spider-Man) Captain America Civil War Interview

Director Jon Watts has talked about his take on the character, and how to differentiate this new Spider-Man from those directed by Sam Raimi and Marc Webb. Talking to The Daily Beast Watts said,

It’s been really fun to just look for things that none of the other Spider-Man movies have really explored before, and decide if that’s something we want to work into that…And really making it a high school movie, and committing to that, and not having that just be the beginning of the movie. The John Hughes sort of tone. When you’re looking at it through that prism, it really opens up the door to a lot of possibilities.

We have high hopes for the film which is set for release on July 7th 2017. Here’s your new trailer,
