The Oscar-nominated John Logan (Gladiator, The Last Samurai) penned the script for Skyfall alongside Bond frequents Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, and now Deadline are reporting that Logan is set to pen the next two instalments in the Bond franchise.
Logan has pitched an original two-movie arc to producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, and has already begun writing the script, which is absolutely brilliant news.
Daniel Craig reprises his role once more in Skyfall, and has officially signed on for at least two more Bond films in the years to come, and it will be interesting to see whether this two-movie arc will be his last.
The project would be the first Bond story to span across more than one film, and naturally that will create an extraordinary level of anticipation when it all gets underway.
Skyfall’s director, Sam Mendes, isn’t necessarily expected to return to the director’s chair, and with Christopher Nolan having expressed interest in helming a Bond film in the future, it would be nothing short of incredible to have him partner with Logan for a double feature.
Skyfall, the 23rd film in the James Bond series, is released in regular and IMAX theatres in the UK today. In this US, it will arrive a day early in IMAX theatres on 8th November, before going wide on 9th November. Whenever it arrives near you, be sure to see it on the big screen, because it’s set to be one of the year’s best films.
