Brad Pitt is one of the most recognisable faces in the entertainment industry. Starting out as a something of a matinee idol Pitt has gone on to become one of the greatest actors of his generation. Through out his career he has taken on many challenging roles and despite having never picked up an Academy Award he is undeniably one of the most influential actors in the world today.
Add to that the fact that he is box office gold and you have in many ways, the perfect actor.
Pitt’s latest movie, the war drama Fury is out on DVD and Blu Ray next Monday and to celebrate we have taken a look back at six of Pitt’s most memorable roles.
Choosing six of Pitt’s best movie was always going to prove a difficult task and you can’t please everybody so here are a number of honourable mentions that narrowly missed out.
Interview with a Vampire
Burn after Reading
Killing Them Softly
12 Years a Slave
The Oceans Trilogy
One of the films that put Pitt’s name on the map. Seven, Pitt’s first collaboration with director David Fincher was a neo noir detective drama with a twist. Pitt plays Detective David Mills, a young up start with a bright future and a lovely young family who is partnered up with Morgan Freeman’s more experienced Detective William Somerset to try and find a serial killer who is committing murders related to the seven deadly sins.
In a cast that features both Freeman and Kevin Spacey Pitt proved he could hold his own with the big boys, giving a raw and emotionally charged performance, especially in the films final, heartbreaking sequence.
Fury is out on Blu-ray and DVD on Monday the 23rd of February.
