To celebrate the release of Silo, the latest series coming to streaming on Apple TV+, we had the pleasure of chatting with its cast and creators to learn all about it.

“Silo” is the story of the last ten thousand people on earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built, and anyone who tries to find out faces fatal consequences. Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer, who seeks answers about a loved one’s murder and tumbles into a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don’t kill you, the truth will.

Chatting to the cast – including Rebecca Ferguson, Common, Tim Robbins, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, and Avi Nash – we talk about the lure of the show and the original books, the scale of the production and whether they too could survive in the massive Silo set, why 2023 is the perfect time to tell the story and, in the world of streaming and so much content, why the show is one to get to the top of your pile immediately. Next, we speak to creator Graham Yost (Speed) and author of the books Hugh Howey to chat about bringing the stories to life, the huge undertaking of producing the show and the support of Apple and how the show came to pass.

Silo premieres globally on Friday, May 5, 2023, exclusively on Apple TV+.
