It’s no secret that Legendary are bringing together their Monsterverse with the release of Kong: Skull Island following the behemoth battle royale that was 2014’s Godzilla movie.
Kong: Skull Island stars Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, John Goodman, and John C. Reilly, and the first links between the two films have been revealed.
Kongfans were able to pick up something neat at New York Comic-Con this weekend, and an industrious fan looked a little closer at the exclusive poster and found there was far more to it than initially thought.
Here’s the handsome poster in question, courtesy of Bloody-Disgusting.
Here’s the first clue that pertains to the
Monarch is the scientific organisation which recently appeared in Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla movie. Their fingerprints on this document is an obvious link between the two films. Such a nice happy logo…
The rest of the poster has messages such as this which point to locations and ideas which will be explored in the film. It’s well worth clicking over the SciFied to see their complete breakdown.
It’s all very much like the Cloverfield ARG which gave the film a far wider world, and began to link up other elements of the Cloververse. Nice to see Legendary making an effort to draw people in to this film.
Here’s the full poster under the light, with a particularly nasty looking creature underneath the entire landmass.
Whatever Hiddles and his team will find out there – it won’t be an easier trip.
