Earlier this summer, we learned that Dwayne Johnson is set to star in Rampage, an adaptation of the 1980s video game. Ryan Engle is penning the screenplay, and the project with reunite the actor with San Andreas producer Beau Flynn. Plot details are being kept a closely guarded secret, but in the game, players had to stop a giant gorilla, lizard, and wolf as the make their way across America causing all sorts of destruction.

That’s right, The Rock is potentially going to star in a movie where he fights a giant freaking Gorilla!

Now, word comes that San Andreas helmer Brad Peyton is in talks with New Line Cinema to direct Rampage, once again reteaming him The Rock. It shouldn’t really come as a surprise that the studio want them back together, especially after that disaster movie ended up grossing over $460 million at the global box office.

It’s been a successful and busy couple of years for the wrestler turned actor. Ballers recently launched on HBO with strong numbers, while he’s currently filming Central Intelligence alongside Kevin Hart.

He will also reprise the role of fan-favourite character Hobbs in the next instalment of Fast and Furious. As well as a Big Trouble in Little China remake, Johnson is attached to anticipated DC Comics movie Shazam.
