The title says it all folks but the latest news courtesy of THR is that Samuel L. Jackson has joined the cast for the remake to Robocop. I now cannot imagine watching the film without Mr. Jackson delivering a speech about how ED-209 is going to change the world only to see either himself or fellow cast-member get destroyed by the out of control machine. Fear not though folks as we’re told that Jackson will play
‘Pat Novak, a charismatic TV mogul and a powerful force in the Robocop world.’
Pat Novak (I think) is the ‘I’d buy that for a dollar’ chap who runs the commercials interspersed into the movie. I’ve placed a clip from the original below.
Robocop is a remake of the 1987 movie which spawned two sequels and was the first 18 movie I ever watched (when I was about 12!). Gary Oldman has already been cast in the Jose Padilha directed movie which I’m actually really looking forward to. I hope they keep it to an 18 rating so that it can be just as insane as the original (but I bet they don’t!).
