‘Ready or Not’ actress, Samara Weaving, has landed the role of counter-intelligence officer Scarlett in the ‘G.I. Joe’ spinoff ‘Snake Eyes’.

Agent Scarlett is a red-haired soldier, who was known to carry a crossbow as her choice of weapon. The character originated in the 1980s Hasbro toyline reboot of the franchise, a character which continued on in the Marvel comic books and animated TV series.

Weaving joins Henry Golding who will play the titular character. Takehiro Hira has also joined the cast today in an undisclosed role.

Snake Eyes is a silent ninja commando who dresses in all black, never reveals his face and doesn’t speak. He quickly establishes himself as the group’s most popular member and sometimes carries out solo missions with his pet wolf, Timber.

His archenemy is Storm Shadow, a ninja who works for Cobra and is also his blood brother. At one point he had a special relationship with Scarlett, the team’s one-time-only female member.
