The follow-up is set to be directed by The Muppets’ helmer James Bobin, with a planned release date of May 27th, 2016. Linda Woolverton will return to pen the screenplay.
Plot details are currently being kept underwraps, as is the role that Baron Cohen is up for. However, Variety‘s report does reveal that he will play the villain. Through the Looking Glass would mean a reunion of sorts for Baron Cohen and Depp, who starred together in Burton’s Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber.
Baron Cohen has been developing a handful of projects, including the Louis Leterrier directed Grimsby and The Lesbian at Paramount (which he will star in and produce).
Who do you guys think the actor could be playing?
