Ryan Gosling (Blue Valentine) is in final talks to star in Warner Bros. Pictures’ Logan’s Run, a new adaptation of the sci-fi novel by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson.

The film will see Gosling reunite with director Nicolas Winding Refn, whom he worked with on Drive, which is about a Hollywood stunt performer who moonlights as a wheelman.

Scripted by Alex Garland (Never Let Me Go), Logan’s Run will be co-produced by Silver Pictures and Weed Road.

Logan’s Run centers on Logan 5, a “Sandman” whose job is to put those who try to escape mandatory death to permanent sleep, the downside of the blissful existence in the domed city that protects the inhabitants who survived a 23rd Century apocalypse.

Production is scheduled to begin in the Autumn.
