Rooney Mara (The Social Network) is set to star in Emanuel and the Truth about Fishes.
Francesca Gregorini, who directed Mara in coming-of-age drama Tanner Hall, is on board as writer/director.
Emanuel and the Truth about Fishes centers around a young, troubled woman (Mara) who becomes obsessed with her mysterious, new neighbor that looks uncannily like her dead mother.
Paul Schiff Productions and Preferred Content will co-produce the film.
Mara will next be seen in David Fincher’s adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, alongside Daniel Craig, Robin Wright and Stellan Skarsgård.
Production is scheduled to commence in June.
