Much like Bond 23, Darren Aronofsky’s reboot of RoboCop has been put on hold, reports Moviehole.  Studio MGM halted the sci-fi action movie after failing to agree with Aronofsky on how to approach the special effects work. According to the film’s production company Phoenix Pictures, the director is keen to avoid modern, computer-generated techniques whereas MGM are keen for a 3D movie for the new RoboCop.  Given the current trend for 3D and special effect laden films this will be an interesting one to watch.

Paul Verhoeven’s superb original RoboCop released in 1987, spawned two very poor sequels, a even poorer TV series and computer games to various success.  Personally I don’t see how Verhoeven’s can be bettered.  ‘Dead or Alive you’re coming with me’…watch this space for more info.
