This evening, WETA (the digital effects house who worked wonders on the Lord of the Rings Trilogy) will be putting on a rather nice live streaming event which they are called, Live WETA Streaming: Apes Revealed. It sounds like we’re going to get to see some more of their amazing work (four seconds of which can be seen here) on the movie which recently had its title changed to Rise of the Planet of the Apes which in my personal opinion has one too many ‘ofs’ in it!

The site is currently up and will commence live streaming at 9.30 GMT this evening. More details are below. To coincide with this, they have also released the official logo for the movie which is here to the left.

The movie hits UK cinemas August 12th, is directed by Rupert Wyatt and stars James Franco, Tom Felton, Freida Pinto, Andy Serkis, Brian Cox and John Lithgow.

WETA Digital, the industry-leading and Academy Award® winning visual effects house behind the wizardry of films such as Avatar, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and District 9, will host a live streaming event on Facebook, for RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES.  On April 13, at 2:30PM PDT 5.30PM EST, from WETA’s headquarters in Wellington, New Zealand, WETA’s Joe Letteri and Dan Lemmon will give viewers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at their work on the film, a reality-based cautionary tale that blends science fiction and science-fact.

Head back here in good time this evening to watch the show embedded below.
