Respected character actor Richard Jenkins (last seen offering creepy paternal support in US remake Let Me In) has joined the cast of Andrew Dominik’s crime thriller Cogan’s Trade.

Variety are reporting that he’ll join Brad Pitt, Sam Rockwell and a rumoured Casey Affleck (the stars of the director’s previous feature, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) in the tale of a professional enforcer (Pitt) who investigates a heist that takes place during a high-stakes poker game held under the protection of the mob.

The cast list here is shaping up to represent a who’s who of dynamic heavy-weight acting talent with James Gandolfini Javier Bardem and Mark Ruffalo also down to co-star in the film, which starts shooting later this month in New Orleans.
