To celebrate the release of his new film, The Boy In The Woods, we had the pleasure of chatting to actor Richard Armitage about his powerful new film, and his hit show Red Eye, for which the finale aired this past weekend.
The Boy in the Woods is a Canadian drama film, directed by Rebecca Snow and released in 2023. Based on the memoir of the same name by Maxwell Smart, the film dramatizes Smart’s childhood experience of having to fend for himself in the forests of Poland during World War II.
Chatting to Armitage, we chat about the lure of the film and its unique power, working with writer/director Rebecca Snow – who had made the acclaimed documentary Cheating Hitler: Surviving the Holocaust in 2019 – his history lesson about the real-life people involved in the story, the acting challenges that accompany doing accents, and he waxes lyrical about his young co-star Jett Klyne who leads the film. We also chat about his hit ITV show Red Eye, which has garnered huge acclaim and audiences, and has just finished with its twisty finale.
