Courtesy of Lucasfilm, Red Tails tells the story of a group of talented African American fighter pilots who face segregation and racial abuse in the second World War, from fellow compatriots. It’s Hemingway’s feature film début, but alongside the vastly experienced Oscar winner Gooding Jr. as well as Terrence Howard, the young director has certainly been left in good hands.

The pair discuss their delight at working alongside one another and their wish to do so again, whilst Hemingway also admits to his joy at working with his boyhood hero George Lucas. Gooding Jr. also has experience in this field following on from his role in The Tuskegee Airmen – depicting the same set of events – and admits that his past experience in such a field proved to be rather helpful when taking on his role.
