Django-Unchained-PosterQuentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained is one of the final films entering the Oscar race this year, and we can’t wait for it to hit.

Just yesterday, the film earned itself an impressive five nominations at the Golden Globes, for Best Motion Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and two Best Supporting Actor nods for Leonardo DiCaprio and Christoph Waltz.

The film is earning strong praise as we head towards both its Christmas Day release in the US and of course the Oscar nominations, which the Academy will announce next month.

We saw four brilliant new TV spots for it earlier in the week, and now Yahoo Movies, IGN, and IMDb have each debuted a new clip.

“Set in the South two years before the Civil War, DJANGO UNCHAINED stars Academy Award(R)-winner Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Academy Award(R)-winner Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles–dead or alive.”

Jamie Foxx stars as the eponymous Django, with Waltz and DiCaprio completing the leading trio, and excellent support coming in the form of Kerry Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, Jonah Hill, Don Johnson, and Walton Goggins.

Tarantino is naturally directing from his own script once more, with past collaborators Bob and Harvey Weinstein serving as executive producers.

Django Unchained will be unleashed in the US on Christmas Day, with The Weinstein Company really planting the flag for the coming Academy Awards. Here in the UK, it will be coming slightly later, with its release date set for 18th January, and I can’t wait for that date to roll around. For now, here are the great new clips to dip a toe in the water. Enjoy.
