Hard rock and metal have always had an affiliation with horror, as anyone who has seen the likes of Trick or Treat (the Ozzy Osbourne one) and Return of the Living Dead can attest to.
Now Deadline brings news that Slash, the poodle-haired legendary guitarist for Guns N’ Roses (Version 1) and Velvet Revolver is teaming up with Scout Productions (the company behind such films as Transsiberian, Session 9 and Fog of War) to start the aptly named Slasher Films.
Aimed at creating films inspired by classic chillers from the ’70s and ’80s, the first film to be made (Nothing to Fear), will be a horror/thriller that follows a young family as it tries to reinvent itself by moving to a small town in rural Kansas, and ends up being tormented by an ancient demon with an insatiable blood lust. Oops!
Production is expected to begin early next year.
