Next month we’ll see if Dean Israelite’s new cinematic take on Saban’s Power Rangers can successfully drag the campy Japanese inspired series into the twenty-first century. The fans have long craved a big screen version of the tale, and with the likes of Chronicle (and Israelite’s own Project Almanac) teen sci-fi is back on the rise. So who better than the team of multi-coloured monster-beaters to ride high on that nostalgia-infused wave?

elizabeth banks rita repulsa power rangersYour shiny new Rangers team includes Dacre Montgomery as Jason the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as Billy the Blue Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly the Pink Ranger, Becky G  as Trini the Yellow Ranger, and Ludi Lin as Zack the Black Ranger. The more well known cast members include Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa and Bryan Branston as Zordon. Bill Hader will be lending his voice to Alpha 5, and you can see the really odd looking concept art for that ‘beloved’ character right here.

Below you can find the new poster, with the Rangers being rather overshadowed by the rest of the team. It certainly won’t win any design awards, however there’s enough momentum and nostalgia to please the steadfast fans. Maybe it’ll be something amazing and win them a few more?

Power Rangers release date: 23rd March.
