Lionsgate UK has unveiled the brand-new trailer for ‘Power Ballad,’ a soulful, sharp-edged story about music, ambition, and the fragile ego behind the spotlight.
Directed by John Carney, at the heart of ‘Power Ballad’ is Rick, played by Paul Rudd, a wedding singer whose glory days have long faded into background noise. Enter Danny, a former boy-band sensation portrayed by Nick Jonas, now chasing echoes of his former fame. When the two meet, their shared love of music sparks an unlikely connection.
But harmony turns to discord when Danny transforms one of Rick’s songs into a chart-topping comeback hit—without giving Rick the credit he craves. What follows is a tense, emotional spiral as Rick sets out to reclaim what he believes is rightfully his, even if it risks unravelling the few meaningful connections he has left.
Alongside Rudd and Jonas, the film features a strong supporting cast including Peter McDonald, Marcella Plunkett, Havana Rose Liu, and Jack Reynor.
