The pure brilliance of Peter Dinklage means he will never be without a role or two. The Game of Thrones actor has now attached himself to a Rumpelstiltskin movie at Sony Pictures.

Whilst the film is still in its development stages, there isn’t much information to divulge concerning the plot outline. However, Dinklage is on board to star and produce the fairytale mystery. Patrick Ness has been hired to write the script with Karen Rosenfelt, whilst Circle of Confusion’s Matt Smith and David Alpert, David Ginsberg, and Josh Weinstock are also on board to produce. Dinklage and Ginsberg with produce through their Estuary Films banner.

Even with Game of Thrones coming to its evitable end, this project wouldn’t be Dinklage next venture. My Dinner With Herve is next on the agenda for the star.

The fairytale story of Rumpelstiltskin is said to have originated around 4,000 years ago. It was included in the Brothers Grimm 1812 edition of Children’s and Household Tales. The tale follows a miller who lies to the king, telling him that his daughter can spin straw into gold. The king calls for the girl, shuts her in a tower room filled with straw and a spinning wheel, and demands she spin the straw into gold by morning or he will cut off her head. When she has given up all hope, an imp-like creature, Rumpelstiltskin appears in the room and spins the straw into gold in return for her necklace. However, his motives are not pure and the girl loses more than she expected.

Dinklage was most recently seen in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri and Avengers: Infinity War. He is also attached to star in O’Lucky Day.
