HBO Max has launched a sneak peek at the upcoming DC spin-off series ‘Peacemaker’, from James Gunn.
Cena returns to the role in the clip of the 8 episode series, having turned up to dinner with Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland and Chukwudi Iwuji in full costume – the group proceed to rib Peacemaker for his choice of cosplay costume while his pet Eagerly sits in the back of the car.
“ ‘Peacemaker’ is an opportunity to delve into current world issues through the lens of this superhero-supervillain-and world’s biggest douchebag,” Gunn previous stated. “I’m excited to expand ‘The Suicide Squad’ and bring this character from the DC film universe to the full breadth of a series. And of course, to be able to work again with John, Peter, and my friends at Warner Bros. is the icing on the cake.”
