Paula Patton has landed the female lead role in the upcoming Mission: Impossible sequel (Mission: Impossible 4), Deadline have confirmed.
Patton, who’s appeared in such films as Mirrors and Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire, will play “a young operative who works with Ethan Hunt.”
Tom Cruise will return as Ethan Hunt, while Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) will co-star.
Brad Bird is attached to direct, while JJ Abrams will return as executive producer.
The unnamed sequel will be co-financed by Paramount and Skydance.
