Pain-and-Gain-UK-PosterMichael Bay’s Pain and Gain topped the box office across the Atlantic earlier this year, and now it’s set to do the same when it lands here in the UK next month.

I’ve been eagerly looking forward to this one for what feels like forever, with its release date on our shores pushed back from early May to the end of August, presumably to give it some distance from Iron Man 3, which would have opened a week before it on our shores in the spring.

With August now fast approaching, Paramount have sent over the new UK poster, along with a red-band clip, giving us a great look at what promises to be an instant favourite performance from Mark Wahlberg.

Based on the unbelievable true story of three personal trainers in 1990s Miami who, in pursuit of the American Dream, get caught up in a criminal enterprise that goes horribly wrong.

Wahlberg is joined by Dwayne Johnson and Anthony Mackie as the trio of personal trainers, with Ed Harris, Rob Corddry, Ken Jeong, Rebel Wilson, and Tony Shalhoub completing the cast.

Bay is directing from a script written by co-writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor: The Dark World), based on Pete Collins’ original article.

Pain and Gain will be released here in the UK on 30th August. And if you missed it in the States, it’s available for pre-order now on Blu-ray/DVD for an August 27th release. In the meantime, here’s the new UK poster, along with the restricted clip, which is naturally unsuitable for work.
