Up until now, the focus has very much been on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Captain America: Civil War when it comes to 2016’s comic book movies. However, the epic first trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse has ensured that fans don’t forget to take it seriously too!

To follow that, a brand new poster has now been released featuring Oscar Isaac’s En Sabah Nur in all his monstrous glory. He looks massively different here to the first images we got during Comic-Con back in July, and it’s fair to say that he looks absolutely terrifying!

10 Things We’ve Learned from the First X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer

X-Men Apocalypse Poster

Here’s the official synopsis for the movie which was released by Fox a little earlier this week:

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

As well as returning cast members such as Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult, X-Men: Apocalypse will also introduce Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Lana Condor, Oscar Isaac, Ben Hardy, Olivia Munn, and a number of others. The movie is currently set to be released on May 27th, 2016.
