The full-length trailer for The Company Men debuted over at Yahoo! Movies last night. Written and directed by John Wells (ER), the drama tackles life-altering themes such as family, money, and the overall purpose of life. The film features performances from Ben Affleck (The Town), Tommy Lee Jones (No Country for Old Men), Maria Bello (A History of Violence), Chris Cooper (American Beauty), Rosemarie DeWitt (United States of Tara) and Kevin Costner (Dances with Wolves).

The official synopsis for The Company Men goes something like this:

Bobby Walker (Affleck) is living the American dream: great job, beautiful family, shiny Porsche in the garage. When corporate downsizing leaves him and co-workers Phil Woodward  (Cooper) and Gene McClary (Jones) jobless, the three men are forced to re-define their lives as men, husbands, and fathers.

Bobby soon finds himself enduring enthusiastic life coaching, a job building houses for his brother-in-law (Costner) which does not play to his executive skill set, and perhaps the realization that there is more to life than chasing the bigger, better deal.

The Company Men opened to strong reviews at the Sundance Film Festival in January, praising the film’s tone and performances from Cooper, Jones and Affleck. Expect it to garner some awards buzz when it’s released in the US on October 22, 2010 by The Weinstein Company.
