Now-You-See-Me-PosterLouis Leterrier’s magician-based blockbuster thriller Now You See Me will be hitting theatres in the US next Friday, and I’m incredibly excited about its arrival.

The film boasts one of the year’s best casts, and all that we’ve seen so far suggests that it’s going to be of the year’s best movies as well.

Summit recently released the opening four minutes, which should serve as more than enough to whet your appetites for more. And following on nicely from that comes a great new TV spot, not only giving us a look at Morgan Freeman’s character, the so-called Debunker, but also the explosive action and magic sequences we can look forward to seeing soon.

NOW YOU SEE ME pits an elite FBI squad in a game of cat and mouse against “The Four Horsemen”, a super-team of the world’s greatest illusionists.

“The Four Horsemen” pull off a series of daring heists against corrupt business leaders during their performances, showering the stolen profits on their audiences while staying one step ahead of the law.

Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco star as the magician quartet, The Four Horsemen. And starring opposite them is Mark Ruffalo, Mélanie Laurent, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman.

Louis Leterrier (The Transporter) is directing from a script co-written by Boaz Yakin (Prince of Persia), newcomer Edward Ricourt, Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec (co-writers on Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol), and Ed Solomon (Men in Black).

It might be a bit of a long shot, but I’m really rooting for this to open strong at #1 at the US box office, and beat M. Night Shyamalan’s After Earth, opening next weekend as well. Shyamalan’s latest has the advantage of being a really big-budgeted blockbuster led by Will Smith and his real-life son, Jaden Smith. But nonetheless, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a surprise lead from Leterrier’s heist movie.

Now You See Me will be released in the US on May 31st, and has its UK release date following a few weeks later on 3rd July. This is one of the many films that cannot come fast enough this year. Here’s the latest TV spot to get you in the mood.
