Aquaman is a property DC comic fans have been excited to see for a long time. The title role is played by Game of Thrones’ favourite Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo) who we saw briefly in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and who will appear in Zac Snyder’s Justice League later this year.
Aquaman was created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger and tells the story of a half-human, half-Atlantean who is king of the underwater oceans. The comic was originally written in 1941 but really hit the big time in the 1950s and 60s when he, along with Batman, Superman and The Flash founded The Justice League of America – the exact story which Snyder will tell in his two-part Justice League movies.
Aquaman is being helmed by Director James Wan who directed the original Saw movie and went onto produce the sequels and more recently Insidious, The Conjuring and Fast & Furious 7 which gave him a chance to shine in a huge all-out action studio movie for Universal Pictures.
Aquaman will be with us 2018.
