From Eduardo Sánchez, co-director of The Blair Witch Project, comes a new horror film ‘from the filmmakers that started it all’.

A new trailer has landed over at Apple ahead of its US release in May, and whilst I’m not entirely sold on the idea that it will ‘redefine horror once again’, it’s certainly still got me interested.

“When newlywed Molly Reynolds returns to her long-abandoned family home, frightful reminders of a nightmarish childhood begin seeping into her new life. She soon begins an inexorable descent into an evil that blurs the lines between psychosis and possession.”

Gretchen Lodge makes her acting debut in the lead (much like Heather Donahue essentially did in The Blair Witch Project), and it looks like with a solid marketing campaign, Sánchez could have another success on his hands.

Metrodome picked up the UK rights earlier this year, but a release date is yet to be announced, but hopefully that’s just a matter of time.

Lovely Molly will be opening in the US on 18th May, and with a bit of luck, we’ll have it not much longer after that. For now, here’s the new trailer for your viewing pleasure.
