Australian cinema is pumping out some awesome stuff at the moment. I recently managed to catch up with Animal Kingdom on a trip to the US and it blew me away. Today we got sent this brand new trailer and poster from Warp Films Australia for their new movie which looks similar in style to tat of Animal Kingdom. It’s called Snowtown and is directed by Justin Kurzel and produced by Anna McLeish and Sarah Shaw.
Synopsis: When sixteen-year-old Jamie is introduced to a charismatic man, a friendship begins. As the relationship grows so do Jamie’s suspicions, until he finds his world threatened by both his loyalty for, and fear of, his newfound father-figure John Bunting, Australia’s most notorious serial killer.
Snow Town stars Lucas Pittaway, Daniel Henshall and Louise Harris and is scheduled for release in Australia May 19th. No news as yet when it’ll be coming to the UK but we’ll keep you posted. It looks intense and could well be another one to watch out for. Hopefully we’ll get it some time soon.
