Rian Johnson (Brick) returns to the big screen this year with Looper, reuniting with Joseph Gordon-Levitt once more, who stars alongside an all-star cast headed up by Bruce Willis and Emily Blunt.

The film will be opening this year’s TIFF next month, and will be released in theatres just a few weeks later, and the anticipation couldn’t be higher. A new international trailer has now made its way online, giving us another awesome look at what Johnson has in store for us.

“In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination.

The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.”

Johnson is directing from his own script, and starring alongside the leading trio will be Jeff Daniels, Paul Dano, Piper Perabo, Noah Segan, and Garrett Dillahunt.

Looper will be debuting at TIFF in just a few weeks, and will then head into theatres thankfully very soon after, with a release set for 28th September in the UK and US. We can’t wait: This is going to be immense, and nothing less.
