Writer-director-actress Jennifer Westfeldt has assembled a fantastic cast for her directorial debut, Friends With Kids, in which she stars alongside Adam Scott, Kristen Wiig, Jon Hamm, Maya Rudolph, Chris O’Dowd, Megan Fox, and Edward Burns. Pretty impressive stuff.

So far, we’ve had a first trailer, a first poster, and a first red-band trailer for the film in the past couple of months, and now we can add to that a handful of new images, courtesy of IMDb.

“A close-knit circle of friends are at that moment in life when children arrive and everything changes. The last two singles in the group observe the effect that kids have had on their friends’ relationships and wonder if there’s a better way. They decide to have a kid together – and date other people.”

The trailers we’ve seen have definitely been promising, and this is certainly a comedy to watch out for this year. If you’re in the States, you’ll be getting this in just two weeks’ time on 9th March.

Here in the UK, we have a little longer to wait, with its release set for 29th June, setting it up to be one of the summer comedies of the year, alongside the likes of A Fantastic Fear of Everything, starring Simon Pegg; the Farrelly brothers’ The Three Stooges; the Rock of Ages adaptation; and The Five-Year Engagement, starring Jason Segel and Emily Blunt, all also coming in June.

Westfeldt’s writing debut with Kissing Jessica Stein had a great critical reception, so here’s to hoping that her foray into directing will be met with the same praise. For now, the new images from the film, which you can click to enlarge.
