With Captain America, Iron Man and Thor all finding huge success with their own solo outings, Marvel Studios have now set their sights on establishing another new franchise!

That will be James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy, a movie which will open up the world of The Avengers to outer space after Thanos was first teased when Loki borrowed his Chitauri army back in 2012’s Avengers Assemble. Fans believe that this will lead to some sort of huge Avengers/Guardians crossover when the iconic villain finally attacks our planet in the next outing for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

The poster highlights each of the main team members, while the stills once again put the spotlight on Jurassic World star Chris Pratt as Star-Lord.

Meanwhile, Marvel have also confirmed that a new trailer for the movie will debut this Monday. As always, stay tuned to HeyUGuys as we’ll have it for you right here.

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro, Guardians of the Galaxy is set to be released on August 1st in the US and July 31st in the UK.
