Liam Neeson returns to theatres today in Taken 2, the sequel to the incredibly successful 2008 original action film from the pen of Luc Besson.

The film is Neeson’s biggest of the year, reprising the role that has earned something of a cult following in recent years, so if you want to see him back on the big screen, this is the film to do it with. We saw a handful of new images from the action blockbuster yesterday, and now Fox have released a new featurette as it heads into theatres.

“Bryan Mills is the retired CIA agent with a “particular set of skills” who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from kidnappers. When the father of one of the villains Bryan killed swears revenge, and takes Bryan and his wife hostage in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to help them escape. Bryan then employs his unique tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers, one by one.”

Olivier Megaton (Colombiana) is behind the camera this time around, directing from a script by Besson and his frequent collaborator, Robert Mark Kamen (Taken, The Fifth Element).

The excellent Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen reprise their roles alongside Neeson, with Rade Serbedzija starring as the antagonist.

We recently got a chance to sit down with Neeson to talk about the film, and I’d highly recommend checking out the interview here.

Taken 2 is in theatres in the UK and US now, opening at the box office this weekend. To give you a taste of what to expect, here’s the new featurette. Enjoy.
