Taken 2 posterLiam Neeson will be back on the big screen in just over a month in Taken 2, potentially one of the most unpredicted sequels in recent years.

Olivier Megaton (Colombiana) is behind the camera this time around, with the ever-brilliant Luc Besson (Léon) partnering with frequent collaborator, Robert Mark Kamen (Taken, The Fifth Element), for the script.

We’ve seen a handful of trailers full of all the action you’d expect following the original, and now a new international trailer has made its way online, giving us another sixty seconds of Neeson goodness.

“Bryan Mills is the retired CIA agent with a “particular set of skills” who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from kidnappers. When the father of one of the villains Bryan killed swears revenge, and takes Bryan and his wife hostage in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to help them escape. Bryan then employs his unique tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers, one by one.”

The excellent Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen reprise their roles from the original alongside Neeson, with Rade Serbedzija starring as the antagonist.

Taken 2 is set to hit the big screen on 4th October in the UK, followed a day later in the US on 5th October. For now, if you’re a fan of the original, you’ll no doubt enjoy this new sixty-second tease.
