This should hardly come as a surprise, but Netflix has officially announced that House of Cards will return for a fourth season. This was the show which started the online streaming service’s original programming dominance, something which has now expanded with shows like Orange is the New Black, Bloodline, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and the upcoming Marvel series Daredevil (see our favourites right here).

With America going through an election next year, it’s fitting that the fourth season of House of Cards will likely focus on Frank Underwood struggling to hold onto his Presidency by securing a second term.

Reviews for season three of House of Cards were extremely positive, and while Netflix don’t publish their ratings, it’s thought to be one of their most successful pieces of original content so it’s going nowhere soon.

There’s no word on a premiere date just yet, but sometime in February seems likely based on the past few years. House of Cards stars two-time Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey (he won a Golden Globe for his work on the series last year) alongside Robin Wright and a superb cast of actors. Here’s the teaser:
