To celebrate the release of Ms. Marvel, the latest in the long line of MCU shows airing on Disney+, we sat down with the stars of their latest effort to find out all about the new superhero in town.
Marvel Studios’ “Ms. Marvel” is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega-fan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels invisible both at home and at school—that is, until she gets superpowers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with superpowers, right?
Chatting to Iman Vellani – who plays the titular character – and co-star Rish Shah, we talk about the show’s importance and how relatable her story is, what it was like stepping into the MCU and joining the array of talents already part of the hugely successful franchise, finding out they got the job and the impact the show will have on audiences across the globe.
