Morgan Freeman has joined the cast of the Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson sequel vehicle, ‘The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’ the follow-up to 2017’s ‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard.

Reynolds returns as Michael Bryce, Jackson reprises his role of Darius while Selma Hayek returns as Darius’s wife, Sonia. Patrick Hughes also returns to take the helm on a script from Tom O’Connor.

As you would expect, the plot for the sequel is a bit on the thin side for details, The new instalment sees plans by bodyguard Michael Bryce (Reynolds) to swear off violence derailed when hitman Kincaid (Jackson) and his wife Sonia (Hayek) entangle him in their mission to wreak havoc along the Amalfi Coast in an attempt to save Europe. As for who Freeman will be playing is unclear at this stage.

Filming is due to commence this month. Filming will take place in Italy, Scotland, Bulgaria and the United Kingdom.

Freeman, who at the age of 81 show’s no sign of slowing down. He was last seen in Disney’s ‘The Nutcracker and the Four Realms’, his next will be the Gerard Butler vehicle and another instalment of the saga no one asked for, ‘Angel has Fallen’. He will also star in the thriller ‘The Poison Rose’ alongside Brendan Fraser and John Travolta. He currently hosts ‘The Story of God’ a series in which follows Freeman as he travels to cities deemed the world’s holiest, and speak with religious leaders, scientists, historians, and archaeologists.
