Mendelsohn’s Gerry is a constant gambler, crapped-out drunk on bad luck, with a shaky poker hand and not much to look forward to. That is until he meets Ryan Reynold’s Curtis, who convinces him to go on the road and start a new lucky streak. If I were a marketing man I’d be throwing out epithets like ‘it’s a road trip with high level stakes’.
