She may have recently given birth to a child but that isn’t stopping Mission Impossible’s Rebecca Ferguson from lining up some new roles.

Ferguson – who is currently starring in the sixth outing in the MI saga – has signed on to join Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth in the Men in Black spin-off. She has also recently closed a deal to star in the adaptation of Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep.

Although the character she will play in the Men In Black revival hasn’t come to light, it has been revealed that she will play Rose the Hat in the prequel to The Shining.

The MIB Spin-off will see Em (played by Tessa Thompson) as she goes on a journey to prove herself by joining the London branch of the MIB. She is partnered with “former ace” MIB agent “H” (played by Chris Hemsworth) and the pair soon find themselves embroiled in a murder mystery that will see them crossing the globe.

The new project is expected to be within the same universe inhabited by Agent’s J and K (Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones). With Straight Outta Compton director, F. Gary Gray taking the helm of a script that has already been written by Iron Man scribes, Matt Holloway & Art Marcum. Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are back as producers and Steven Spielberg will be executive producers.

A release date of June 14, 2019, has already been set.

Doctor Sleep is co-written and directed by Mike Flanagan and stars Ewan McGregor stars as the grown-up Danny Torrance. The story picks up the life of the Redrum kid when he is in his 40s and struggling with the same demons of anger and alcoholism that plagued his father.
