Writer / Director Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre and Matthias Schoenaerts and Jason Mitchell are interviewed by DaniElle DeLaite for their movie The Mustang.

The director talks about the real life Mustang programme, and how the animal therapy in prisons takes in all kinds of language and connection, teaching trust, respect and intuition. She talks about the discovery of the self evident during her research for the film, and why she wanted to tell this specific story.

Matthias Schoenaerts tells us about filming a very important scene, a wordless moment of connection between his character and the titular mustang. It is a dissection of a perfect moment of elemental harmony, and how the cast, animal and crew surrended to that particular moment .Jason Mitchell opens up about the darkness at the heart of the characters, and how the dynamics collided to open up new possibilities for storytelling.

Plot:

MUSTANG tells the story of Roman Coleman, a violent convict, who is given the chance to participate in a rehabilitation therapy program involving the training of wild mustangs.
