Captain America Vs Winter Soldier

Well, if Warner Bros. weren’t planning on moving the release date of Batman Vs. Superman before, they surely are now! Just hours after reports that the studio were considering bringing the Zack Snyder helmed movie ahead by a week, it has now been revealed that Marvel’s Untitled 2016 Release is in fact Captain America 3!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the plan right now is for Captain America to make his solo return to the big screen two years from now, with Anthony and Joe Russo both set to return to direct. In fact, they’re currently planning out the story with screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

The fact that Marvel has chosen Captain America to fill this date perhaps shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, especially as tracking indicated that Captain America: The Winter Soldier will open in North America with a whopping $85 million next month.

Now that Warner Bros. are aware of what will be opening on that May 6th date, it will be interesting to see whether or not they really do back down now. Had they been going up against a new property like Doctor Strange, it’s likely that the studio would have taken the risk of a Marvel showdown, but Batman Vs. Superman Vs. Captain America may be more than they can handle…
