There had been rumours in regards to the release date of the follow-up to Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but it’s now official! In a press release via their website, Marvel have today confirmed that the currently untitled third instalment in their Captain America franchise will be released on May 6th, 2016.

Does that date ring any bells? Well, it should do, as it’s the exact same day that Warner Bros. have decided to debut Zack Snyder’s Batman Vs. Superman. Now, there’s a chance that either film could move their release date up by a week in an effort to save face by not making it look as if they’re backing down, but which one will it be?

Chances are, after Captain America: The Winter Soldier’s incredible box office opening both in North America and overseas (more details on that can be found by clicking here), it will be the Man of Steel sequel, but neither release will ultimately benefit from squaring off on May 6th.
