This leaves us with a lot of questions, particularly after the way Avengers: Age of Ultron ended. If that Quinjet ended up taking the Hulk into outer space, it’s likely that Thor will meet him along the way, but if the Jade Giant is still on Earth, then that’s going to take a little more explaining. There have however been rumblings that the Hulk will appear in Captain America: Civil War, so there’s a chance we’ll get some sort of explanation there.
Regardless, most fans are of course hoping that Thor: Ragnarok is going to be some sort of loose adaptation of Planet Hulk. It’s strange in some ways that The Hulk will be showing up in potentially the biggest Thor movie to date as the focus should really be on the God of Thunder, but The Dark World was essentially a team-up movie with Loki, and that ultimately didn’t hurt Thor’s arc in the least. Plus, as the MCU continues to grow, this just makes sense!
After all, one of the biggest complaints about Phase 2 was why Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor didn’t call for back-up from their fellow Avengers when they were facing potentially world ending threats. Thor and The Hulk’s chemistry in The Avengers was a real highlight of that movie, so seeing that further explored come 2017 promises to be a whole lot of fun.
