Daniel Craig returns to the big screen in just a few weeks in Skyfall, reprising his role as James Bond in the latest film in the phenomenally successful franchise.
We’ve seen plenty from the film in recent months to give us an idea of how epic it’s going to be, and one thing that’s been missing has been the soundtrack. Tonight, all of that changes with the official release of the theme song, sung by Adele, and to go with it comes a brand new video blog, giving us a look at the locations used for the production.
“In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”
Craig is joined by a fantastic cast, headed up by Javier Bardem, Bérénice Marlohe, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Whishaw, Albert Finney, Helen McCrory, Ola Rapace, and Dame Judi Dench.
Sam Mendes (American Beauty) is making his Bond debut behind the camera, directing from a script written by Bond frequents Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, and the ever-brilliant John Logan (Gladiator, Coriolanus).
Written by Adele and Paul Epworth, this brilliant theme song is available for purchase as of 0:07 this morning, and is currently just 99p on iTunes.
Skyfall will be released in regular and IMAX theatres in the UK on 26th October, with tickets already on pre-sale now. In the US, it will be arriving in IMAX theatres on 6th November, a day before going wide on 7th November. It’s set to be one of the best films of the year, and it could well be going to the Oscars with a fantastic theme song like this. Enjoy.
